Those of you that know me, know how much I love my job. For me weddings are such a positive environment to be in. If I could photograph a wedding every day, I'd be a happy man. However, what just about tops weddings on my love to do list, is to travel. I love to get away and so therefore a destination wedding for me is a Yes Yes.
I've always dreamed of photographing weddings abroad and back in 2014, I was lucky enough to photograph not only a French wedding, but also an Italian wedding. Since then I travelled to India to photograph several weddings and wedding rituals and also did a stylised shoot just outside of Atlanta just before the pandemic. Weddings around the world are similar to that of English weddings but of course always culturally just a little different. It's that difference that I thrive on.
So when I travelled to Las Vegas in November, it was an absolute privilege to photograph Brian and Amber's wedding. Let's first get this straight, photographers aren't generally allowed to photograph weddings in Chapels in Las Vegas (unless you pay an additional $500 fee!). So as Brian is literally my doppelgänger, I passed as his brother (from another mother!) and I was welcomed into the chapel as a witness to the wedding. (How cool is that?) I wad told that I was only allowed to take one photo. (I therefore videoed it and took one photo!).
After the ceremony Brian and Amber and I walked the streets of Downtown Freemont and then headed to the Las Vegas sign and finished off at the notorious Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Thank you so much Brian & Amber for trusting me be a part of your special day.
