Leigh Court Wedding Photography – Bristol Wedding Venue Located on the outskirts of Bristol, Leigh Court is one of the city’s most well-known wedding venues. A historic country house surrounded by sweeping parkland, it offers couples the best of both worlds — grand architecture and open green space, just minutes from the city. Tom & Erica’s wedding at Leigh Court was a brilliant reminder of why it works so well for relaxed, documentary-style weddings.

A Leigh Court Wedding in Bristol

Tom & Erica’s story was slightly different from the norm. Tom grew up in Bristol and organised much of the wedding while Erica was living in Japan — no small task. They first came across my work at a Leigh Court wedding open evening, and everything grew from there.

I don’t often attend wedding fairs — standing behind a table trying to sell myself has never really been my thing. I’ve always preferred couples finding me through recommendation. Leigh Court, however, had seen me photograph weddings (and a few corporate events) at the venue and were keen to have me on board as a recommended supplier.

That kind of long-term relationship works well for everyone. Leigh Court can trust me to capture genuine, candid moments, handle the important family photographs efficiently, and help the day run smoothly without fuss.

Photographing Tom & Erica’s Wedding Day

The day began at Tom’s parents’ house, where Tom and his brother were getting ready. They were just heading off — to the pub, of course — as I arrived, giving me just enough time to capture a few relaxed moments before shifting focus to Erica and her bridesmaids.

With an early church ceremony followed by travel back to Leigh Court for the reception, time was tight. Add in a slight language barrier (my Japanese vocabulary is non-existent), and it could have been stressful — instead, it became part of what made the day so enjoyable.

Once everyone arrived at Leigh Court, the pace eased. Guests spread out across the grounds, conversations flowed, and the venue provided a calm, elegant backdrop for the rest of the celebration. Just perfect for candid style photography
