The Barn at Upcote Wedding Photography | Cotswolds

The Barn At Upcote, Gloucestershire.
Unless you already know it’s there, you could drive past the turning for The Barn at Upcote without ever realising a wedding venue exists down the lane. Even with the postcode plugged into Google Maps, it feels like you’re being sent on a slight adventure — which is all part of its charm. Tucked away right in the heart of the Cotswolds, yet only a stone’s throw from Cheltenham, The Barn at Upcote is a genuine hidden gem. Once you arrive, everything slows down. Fields stretch out around you, peacocks wander the grounds, sheep graze nearby, and the barn itself sits quietly at the centre of it all.

A Barn at Upcote Wedding – Steph & Tom

The Barn at Upcote ticks an awful lot of boxes as a Cotswold wedding venue — rustic barns, Cotswold stone, open fields and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Although it’s a relatively recent addition to the wedding scene, it’s quickly become a favourite of mine.

Every time I arrive, I’m warmly welcomed by the Upcote team, and I always find myself spotting a new corner to photograph. It’s one of those venues that keeps revealing little pockets of light, texture and calm moments, no matter how many times you visit.

Steph & Tom’s wedding came after a long, hot summer, and there was a quiet sense of relief that the temperature had finally dipped a little. That cooler air set the tone for the day — relaxed, comfortable and easy-going.

As I drove up the winding driveway, I was greeted by Steph’s cheerful bridesmaids, busy putting the finishing touches to the entrance. That first moment said everything about the day ahead: warm, welcoming and full of anticipation.

From there, the day unfolded naturally. Guests explored the grounds, conversations drifted between spaces, and my job was simply to blend in and document what was really happening — without pulling anyone away from it. Candid is key after all.
