DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham Wedding Photography
Set just outside the town centre, DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham is a popular Cheltenham wedding venue that blends classic elegance with modern comfort. Surrounded by landscaped grounds and overlooking a peaceful lake, it offers a calm setting while still being easy for guests travelling from across Gloucestershire and beyond.
The venue feels polished without being stiff, making it a great choice for couples who want their wedding day to feel relaxed, sociable and well-paced. From a photography point of view, that balance makes it ideal for candid, documentary wedding photography.
Photography That Tells A Story
While photography is obviously important, it’s only one part of your whole wedding day. What really matters is celebrating your commitment and bringing two families together. You may have guests travelling from all over to be there, and you should have the time and space to actually enjoy them.
My approach at DoubleTree Cheltenham is always documentary-led. I capture the fun, emotion and atmosphere as it unfolds, working quietly with a fly-on-the-wall presence. I won’t pull you away for hours of posed photos or make you miss your drinks reception. Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a celebration. And the most meaningful photographs are always the natural ones.

Venue & Backdrops for Photography at DoubleTree Cheltenham
DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham offers a variety of settings that work beautifully for natural wedding photography:
- The Lake & Grounds: Peaceful outdoor spaces perfect for relaxed couple portraits and candid guest moments
- Lovers Bridge: A favourite spot for romantic portraits, especially in softer evening light
- Elegant Suites: Light-filled rooms ideal for preparation photos and quieter moments
- The Architecture: The Georgian-style building provides a timeless backdrop for both formal and informal portraits
The mix of indoor and outdoor options also means great photography whatever the weather.
Group Photos Without Stopping the Day
Of course, whilst most of my work is candid storytelling photography, I’m always happy to photograph family and friend group shots — they’re important too. I simply recommend keeping them relaxed and limited. Around 8–10 group photos is usually ideal and means they don’t interrupt the flow of the day or pull you away from your guests for too long.
