Slapton Manor Wedding Photography
Set within the Northamptonshire countryside, Slapton Manor is a country Barn wedding venue that feels refined, peaceful and beautifully understated. The barn (The Threshing Barn) is one of the best wedding ceremony venues I’ve ever seen, There’s no other way to describe it except rustic and the adjacent courtyard is an ideal place for friends and family to congregate and mingle post ceremony. The newly built marquee is a great alternative if it does rain! The marquee also is a great place to host the wedding breakfast and evening party. Essentially Slapton Manor, with the the balance of old barns, open grounds makes it a wonderful setting for candid, documentary wedding photography.
A Relaxed, Documentary Wedding at Slapton Manor
While photography is obviously important, it’s only one part of your whole wedding day. What really matters is celebrating your commitment and bringing two families together. You may have guests travelling from all over to be there, and you should have the time and space to actually enjoy them.
My approach at Slapton Manor is always documentary-led. I capture the fun, emotion and atmosphere as it unfolds, working quietly with a fly-on-the-wall presence. I won’t pull you away for hours of posed photos or make you miss time with your guests. Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a celebration. And the most meaningful photographs are always the natural ones.
Group Photos Without Stopping the Day
Of course, I’m always happy to photograph family and friend group shots — they’re important too. I simply recommend keeping them relaxed and limited. Around 8–10 group photos is usually ideal and means they don’t interrupt the flow of the day or pull you away from your guests for too long.
