Are You Getting Married At Tewkesbury Park?
Set high above the historic town of Tewkesbury, Tewkesbury Park is one of those wedding venues that quietly delivers on everything — sweeping views, elegant interiors and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a Gloucestershire wedding venue that feels both polished and easy-going, making it ideal for couples who want something stylish without the fuss.
Recommended Tewkesbury Park Wedding Photographer
I’m incredibly proud to be a recommended wedding photographer at Tewkesbury Park. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph many weddings here — in all seasons — from sun-soaked summer celebrations out on the lawn to cosy winter weddings with a completely different feel.
That experience means I understand how the venue naturally flows, where the best light falls throughout the day, and how to work seamlessly within the space without interrupting things. It also means couples can relax, knowing I’m completely at ease and able to blend in from the moment I arrive.
That said, no two weddings here ever feel the same. Different people, different energy, different stories — and that’s exactly what keeps it exciting every time I return.
My approach here, as always, is to blend in and observe.
No over-direction. No awkward posing. Just letting the day unfold and capturing it as it actually felt.
Tewkesbury Park Wedding Inspiration
This blog is structured in chapters — from getting ready through to the first dance — to showcase my documentary wedding photography approach and how each part of the day fits naturally into the overall story.
Chapter 1: Getting Ready.
Most bridal prep at Tewkesbury Park happens in the King Richard III Suite — a big, beautiful space with loads of light and plenty of room to settle into the morning. I tend to turn up roughly 1.5hr/2hrs, just as the makeup and hair is being finished.
What’s great about Tewkesbury Park, is that I can flick between both parties, capturing final preparations. What I love the most about this time of the day is being apart and capturing the mix of emotions that natural arise.

Chapter 2: Where Do The Wedding Ceremonies At Tewkesbury Park Take Place?
Ceremonies at Tewkesbury Park typically take place in the elegant Cotswold Suite — a bright, spacious room that keeps everything feeling relaxed and intimate. With huge fronted windows backing onto the stunning countryside and golf course, this room provides plenty of natural light and a calm atmosphere. The Cotswold Suite is also so versatile, smaller numbers? No problem, the Cotswold Suite at Tewkesbury Park is dividable meaning your wedding ceremony can also be intimate.

Chapter 3: Canapés & Fizz
The wedding reception (aka Canapés & Fizz) at Tewkesbury Park is that perfect window of time to relax, soak it all in, and be congratulated by your closest family and friends. It’s where the energy lifts — drinks flowing, hugs all round, and conversations picking up pace. I take a step back here, photographing everything in a fly-on-the-wall, candid way, so you can stay fully in the moment and enjoy what you’ve just done. I’ll hold off group photos as long as possible (more of that soon…).

Chapter 4: What About Group Photos?
We’ll absolutely do them.
I just keep them tight and efficient — around 8–10 combinations is usually perfect. Enough to cover the important people without turning the courtyard into a queue. I aim to do group photos in a fun light hearted way and they shouldn’t take more than 20 min. The rest of the day can be spent actually enjoying it.
Tewkesbury Park gives us loads of flexibility too — countryside, terraces, and should the weather be against us we have the amazing hotel lobby and stunning stairs as backdrops. Whatever the weather is I try to keep them fun & quick and keep the day moving.

Chapter 5: When Do You Do Our Couple Pictures At Tewkesbury Park?
I usually suggest slipping away for a few couple photos about 15–20 minutes before the wedding breakfast. It’s a chance to pause, take a breath, and spend a bit of time together away from the crowd. We keep it short — no more than 10–15 minutes — nothing forced, just a relaxed wander and a few natural moments. I’d always rather head back out later in the day when the light softens and you’re even more at ease.

Chapter 6: Wedding Breakfast & Speeches.
The wedding breakfast and speeches are always a highlight for me. By this point, guests are relaxed, a few drinks have been had, and the atmosphere really starts to build. While many photographers sit down at this stage, I tend to stay on my feet — at least until you’re actually eating — so I can continue capturing the in-between moments, reactions, and laughter that really tell the story of the day.

Chapter 7: Evening Couple Pics & A Possible Sunset…
In the evening, we’ll usually sneak off again for a few more couple photos — often heading a little further afield and, if we’re lucky, chasing the sunset. At Tewkesbury Park, that can mean jumping in a golf cart and exploring the grounds properly. It’s relaxed, unhurried, and a chance to make the most of that softer light while you take it all in together.

Chapter 8: Cut The Cake & First Dance
The final part of the day (for me at least!) is usually the cake cutting and first dance. It’s a great way to kick off the evening celebrations — a couple of key moments before the dancefloor properly gets going. I’ll capture it all naturally, and if you’d like me to stay on for the party, I’m always happy to stick around and document the chaos on the dancefloor too. 💃🏻🥳🕺🏾
