The Manor at Old Down Estate, Bristol.
The Manor at Old Down Estate is a relaxed countryside wedding venue just outside Bristol, surrounded by open land and far-reaching views across the South West. It feels private without being remote — close enough for easy travel, yet tucked away enough to let couples properly switch off and enjoy the day.

A Wedding at Old Down Estate – Sammy & Glen

I’d been looking forward to photographing Sammy & Glen’s wedding at The Manor at Old Down Estate for a long time. I already knew Sammy through commercial photography work, so arriving on the day felt familiar from the outset.

Anyone who knows Sammy will know she’s incredibly organised — and the wedding day reflected that in the best possible way. All the planning had been done well in advance, which meant that when the day arrived, both she and Glen could genuinely relax and enjoy time with their friends and family.

My role was simply to document it as it happened. No interruptions. No staging. Just quietly observing and capturing the moments that mattered — the reactions, the interactions, and the energy between people who were clearly enjoying being together. Candid is key.

Old Down Estate suited that approach perfectly. With its open grounds and easy flow between spaces, it allowed the wedding to feel unforced and genuinely relaxed from start to finish.

Thank you Sammy & Glen, I hope you and your family enjoy your wedding photographs for decades to come. 🥂
